and pressure is lower than the old one. The new pump is reading 12 at idle and 8 to 9 cruising, WOT is 4. The old pump was reading anywhere between 15 and 2, at idle, cruising, and WOT.

I let the old pump run on the bench today for 4 hours straight, no problem. I did remove the vanes, so it was just the motor.

I replaced the pump because after changing the filter, it wouldn't run. I had to rap on the outside of it to get it to run.

18 ft lbs converted to in lbs is 216, right?? I didn't torque the banjo's, just snugged them up by feel.

Why are the banjo washers rubber, could you use o-rings, or copper crush washers instead??

My banjo washers are "paper. " I don't beleive o-rings will work as o-rings are supposed to be designed with a retaining groove. My banjos nor where they mate have a groove that will keep the o-ring in shape. You might have them work a long time, but IMHO luck would be involved. Copper crush should be OK.

18ft lbs X 12inch / 1 foot= 216inch lbs, you are right

Just because the lift pump runs with no pressure does NOT mean that it is good.

4 is a lot better than 2 at WOT, but not good enough... filter still clean? Could be a marginal lift pump out of the box... it has happened before. could be whatever trashed your first filter was still working its way out of the tank. Just $20 to try the filter... 180 for the pump.

Best of luck

Brian
