I just got my truck back from having my VP44 installed. Man, I'm throwing out some black smoke on take off! I might have had half as much with the other VP. I have to mention that I'm at an elevation of 7,000 ft. Even while I'm driving in the traffic at 5k elev. I'm getting smoke. I'm not punching it out on take-off either. Is this something that I should be concerned about? Or should I take it back to them? All my filters are clean. Thanks Steve

I live at 9000 feet and with a stock setup mine would smoke down low until I got in to 4th gear even when I would go to Denver. Not sure I would get excited about it unless it's really heavy.

Thanks guys, I'll sleep better knowing it's the norm. This rig has a lot more giddy-up than before too! Thanks again! -Steve-

Sounds normal Steve, besides it now has more power-usually more smoke goes with it. Just light foot it til you got boost then roll into it. I drive daily with anywhere from step 4-8 injectors, and i rarly even put out a puff, you can eliminate 99% of the smoke by driving the truck a little differently, holding the gears a little longer, staying out of OD below 50,and being gentle til you got some boost.
