Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) installinf fuel sending unit

How would I install a fuel sending unit on an 01 ctd. Is there any special tool i need or should it just go in how the old one came out. Also when I pull the top off the tank will all of that stuff come out as one piece.

Mopar had alot of problems with the old sending unit fuel modules,They have an updated fuel module sending unit that will drastically improve the fuel delivery espesially if you leave the old lift pump on the truck and add the pump in the tank. The part # is05175538AA.

I already have the module i am wondering how to put it in

A strap wrench will get the module loose and it all comes out together as a unit. Be careful not to damage the float putting the new one in.



I dropped the tank to get at mine. A transmission jack is helpful for that. Otherwise, no special tools.
