Just did mine two weeks ago. The only problem I had was inserting the pin (for power) into the connector behind the fuse block. After trying to remove the connector (this must be done to insert the pin) for about 45 minutes with no luck, I removed the lower instrument panel brace directly below the steering column. This allowed me to get my head and hands in there to see what I was doing. I think there were six or eight screws. This should save you some serious aggravation.
I ended up not using the kit I bought from the dealer, but the instructions sure came in handy. I made my own harness and used Grote lights instead.
