Gonna install gauges.

Now - what is normal for these gauges, what is the value when I should get concerned, and when to "shut down".

Exhaust temp (pre turbo)

boost pressure

trans temp (manual)

trans temp (auto)

rear end temp

Thanks!

Dan

Exhaust temp (pre turbo) 1250 all day, 1350 1 minute, over that 10 seconds

boost pressure no such thing as bad

trans temp (manual) 275 max

trans temp (auto) dont know

rear end temp 275 max

Auto transmission temps

Koa man posted some numbers a while back and one of the members sent me the web site address for Mag-Hytec. This is from that site -

Temp vs transmision life

Degrees Miles

175 100,000

195 50,000

215 25,000

235 12,500

255 6250

275 3000

295 1500

315 750

Since these guys sell a product that is supposed to help keep transmission's cool, these numbers may be slanted a little. Even so, I've seen this type info in several areas and it always points toward the same end results -TROUBLE!! Keep the temps down, the lower the better.
