Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Installing head studs

As far as the head stud retorque go what intervals do you do them at? Do you eventually not have retorque them or is it some thing that must be done for the life of the engine?

I was told to do them at 200 miles, 1000 miles, 2000 miles, up to 5000 miles... . then every 5000 miles after if you are running over 50 psi.
