Not happy with new Amsoil bypass filter

10000 miles/Full Synthetic

I am wanting to see if anyone has installed themselfs the juice with attitude. I just had a few questions such as it looks like i have to take the VP44 off to install the wire conection, i heard there is an addaptor plate for this, would this keep me from taking the VP off. My next question is when installing the pyromoter the instructinos just state to drill and tape the whole then run the engine to get rid of the shavings. When i start the engine though wont that run the shavings through the turbo?

Thanks for the help.

The cover for the vp44 is available from TST products... . they are the cheapest that I've seen. Blue chips also makes one called Stealth cover. They are simple to install, but some vp44 remans have a set of tamperproof torx bolts in the pump cover & you need tamper proof torx bits to get them out..... just a heads up. The shavings can be removed with a small magnet, but won't hurt the turbo to run the engine... . I use a magnet first to get out all I can before running the truck..... better to be safe than sorry.

There is no need to remove your VP 44. You only need to remove the cover on top so you can get to the wires to do your tap of the pump wire. The hardest part of the install is tapping the manifold and that is not hard. Randy

dont have to remove the vp, all you have to remove is APPS which is a separate unit than the pump itself. with this off you can get to the wire

If I remember correctly this is exactly what the instructions from Edge state. The total install in one of the easiest I have done on any vehicle. And, as stated before, tapping the manifold is the hardest part, finding the tap was the hardest time I had. I also took off the turbo just to be sure I got all the metal shavings out. Also, I mounted the Attitude on the bottom side of the dash, just above the cigarette lighter, much cleaner then above the dash, IMHO. scott

As stated... . you don't have to remove the pump to do the connection. I don't like tapping the pump wire because it voids the warranty of the pump & wire is exposed to corrosion.

I had one last questions about installing the pyrometer sensor. What is the diffrence going to be if it is installed in the manifold or after the turbo in the exhaust pipe. I have seen many installed in the pipe after turbo and that is much easier to weld a bung and go that way. Thanks

They claim about 300 degrees less than the acutal temp if it's mounted after the turbo. So max on your gage should read no more than 1000 degrees if you mount it post turbo.
