I need to know where is the best place to install the probe for my EGT gauge. Also, where is the best place to tap in for boost pressure. Thanks

I enjoy my gauges on the A-Pillar easy to referance too, I pulled the 1/4" plug on my intake manifold. The instructions that came with my boost gauge suggested that spot. Good Luck!

You will want to install the thermocouple in the exhaust manifold about 3/4 of an inch from the turbo in the rear portion of that area. Caution there is a divider in that section. That is why I say in the rear portion not the center.

There is a 1/8 npt plug in the side of the head,(intake portion) behind the injection pump that makes a good easy to access port to pick up a boost signal.

I don't like the looks or position of the a-pilar mounts. This is the way I did mine so you can see a different way:

If you order your gauges from Geno's, they come with instructions that used to be posted on TST's website. WHATEVER YOU DO, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS FIRST!!!!! Being the "seasoned" mechanic, I looked at the exhaust manifold and decided the middle would be the best place to install the pyro probe. I found, much to my dismay, that the manifold is divided.

If you need more specific directions on where to drill, let me know. I kept my instructions from Geno's

I just installed mine last week. Genos included good instructions and excellant price and shipping. Mine are on the A pillar and were easy to install there because you can run the wires right down beside the emergency brake to a factory rubber grommet that is about 2 inches in diameter to the left of the brake pedal. The gauges are eye level and you do not have to look away from the road more than a second to see gauges. That's my 2 cents worth, do what works for you. :)

Thanks for all of the replies... . but I think maybe some of you mis understood my question. I already mounted the guages on the A-pillar... . what I was wondering is where is the best place to mount the EGT probe... . in the exhaust. I already used the link that was posted for the boost gauge, worked perfectly. I am still un clear of exactly where is the best spot for the probe on my EGT gauge. Thanks, CHAD

My picture was too big - I did not notice the error. Lets try this again :)

Jeez, your manifold looks like it has a case of the measles. :-laf Interesting rust pattern.
