DD does send out a good set of instructions... you can also do a search and find several posts about this... one is Vaughn Mackenzie's...
 
The only thing I would suggest that is not on the DD instructions is to cut 1/4 of the side out of a 19mm deep socket forming a tubing wrench style of socket, it makes it a lot easier to get the injector tubes tight and you can use a torque wrench on them much easier than a crowfoot wrench. The DD instructions are complete and are very easy to follow.

The one piece of advice I can give you is to make sure you start at the injector closest to the front of the truck.

This way, by the time you get to that #$#@$ last one near the firewall, it won't nearly be so painful. You will have it mastered by then.

Some more suggestion:

Be sure to protect the AC condensor when you're working with a piece of foam.

Also, might want to make sure you have a stubby 19 mm open wrench for injectors 5 and 6.

I am having DTT tc and vb installed this month, and I will be installing DDII's right after transmission upgrades. I have not done an injector swap before and I am hoping those of you with experience can help me out. Does anyone have a good set of install directions? I need pretty detailed info (torque specs, tools needed, parts needed, best way to go about it, and pitfalls to watch out for).

My DD3's came with a full set of install instructions (torque specs, tools etc ) you should have no problems.

i put in a set of 275's about 2 months ago and still have the scars to prove it!! i had alot of trouble with getting the #6 injector line to align right to screw it back in. also, before you do anything, remove the rear engine lift loop!!!!! it will make your job alot easier. the job is very simple. just take your time and dont get fustrated. good luck... . james. .

jetpilot , i have a suggestion , install the injectors BEFORE the DTT install , that way when the shop sets your shift points you'll be all set , adding the injectors after will land you back for another session , also make sure DTT knows your TRUE HP mods so they can set up your VB properly .

H. O. , yes stop the cut at the part where the ratchet goes in, there is no need to cut any of the drive part of the socket and it will not work if you do. You are making a "crow foot socket" basically.

Another suggestion that helped my install of # 6 injector was to buy a 19mm combo-wrench (cheap one from Pep Boys-$6)and cut it in half. It really was a tremendous help to get the injector line nut pre-tightened (no room for full size) before I used a 19mm crows-foot and the torque wrench to finish.

DD instructions say to remove the throttle essembly bracket for removal of the injector line retaining bolt which resides just under the essembly. this essembly does not need to be removed. just remove the 8mm line clamp bolt just to the side of the essembly. much easier and less to take off and put back on. the rest of the directions were right on the money.

LSMITH, I am planning on new Injectors in the near future. You say to cut a 1/4 slot in the side of the deep socket. Would that be all the way up the side just stop where the ratchet connects? TIA #ad
