i will be installing pyro tomorrow and see that most guys are using a 1/4 npt tap in the exhaust manifold. my pyro is 1/8 npt couldnt i just tap manifold for the 1/8 instead of the 1/4 then i wouldnt need a reducer or is there a specific reason for using 1/4. it is a autometer ultra lite series pyro gauge.

yes you can use a 1/8 npt pipe tap. Thats what I used for the Spa Pyro. Sime size as the Boost sensor. Good luck. I tapped mine at the rear exith to the exhaust manifold, about 3/4" in from the flange.

I'm assuming you've read all these before now, but in case you missed one, please check out the drawing toward the bottom. Hopefully will save you some possible grief. Best of luck on your install!! #ad

There may be an advantage using the reducer if you ever have to service the sender.
