I will be installing the Summit headlight wiring harness on the 01. 5 in the next few days. I like the idea of taking the amp load off the prone to failure headlight and dimmer switch... a little extra light driving at night in Mexico will also be a good thing!

I am interested in any tips you can give on the install from personal experience.

Thanks. You guys are a great bunch!

Steve,

If your truck has fog lights you will most likely have to jump the fog light relay out of the circuit. It activates the hi beam relay. My posts on it are buried in the second listed thread...

I had pulled the relay and put in a jumper wire for the fog lights years ago... but it was good information.

Well, I have concluded that humans do not have enough joints that flex the right way to get to the headlight plugs!!! I managed to install the harness in a reasonable time, but it isn't handy to get to those plugs!

It looks kind of cheezy in my opinion, but it IS "plug and play" and does exactly what it is advertised to do. It would have made the instalation both easier and neater if the tightwads who made the harness would have given us a few extra inches of wire between the headlight plugs!!!
