Instrument Cluster Dash noise

My 2012 2500 SLT has an intermittent vibration noise that occurs mostly at speeds above 50mph. The sound seems to be coming from behind the speedo/tach gauge cluster. Sounds like a worn cable inside a flex tube kind of like the old speedometer cables from long ago. Guessing these cables aren't used anymore.
Anyone run into this problem before??

My '18 2500 has made a similar noise. Smacking the dash around while driving has not fixed it.

It does kinda sound like what you describe, it's a different little noise for sure. I never made the speed correlation. Will keep an eye for that.

It's not very often at this point so I just put it off as I figured other folks would post up about these little thing eventually.

The truck has just under 120K miles. Starting around 50K miles, the noise was barely audible and would show up just once in a while. Its gotten worse over the years and is starting to get annoying. Fortunately it is not noticeable unless you are sitting in the driver seat.

Is the Truck entirely stock in the dash, no aftermarket add-ons? Was the dash ever opened for what ever reason?

I had the same noise, turned out to be the sun visor not latched. Amazing how noise can transmit to other places.

That will be a hard one to figure out, must be something wrong assembled from the factory. Best idea I've is to start with a flash light from below and look for everything that looks suspicious.
