My whole insturment cluster just stopped working. At the same time the ABS light, Air bag light, and check engine light all came on. My odomenter reads no bus and my trip computer reads CCD. Does anyone have any ideas what is the cause of this. I searched the forum and the only similar issues I saw dealt with a bad instrument cluster. Is there any way for me to determine that is the problem before I take it into the dealer?

Test

With the key off push and hold the trip reset, while holding it down turn the key on(not start) when it says chec let off the button. Then all the segments on the odometer will light up 1 at a time, all of the warning lights will come on and then the gauges will all climb in 3 steps. If it does all this it is probably not the cluster.

I had the same thing happen at 88k miles during a blinding rainstorm. Restarted the truck 3 times with same results. After sitting overnight and drier air moved into the region, started and everything was fine- and no problem since. Now have 195k miles on it. 2 different dealers had no clue and wanted to tear out the entire dash-eh, don't think so, Doc!

Chrysler Collision Detection data buss

Everything is trying to tell you the data communication line is down. It's the Chrysler Collision Detection (CCD) system and is basically a telephone line for all the computers. With no data, the cluster doesn't have anything to work with and cannot display anything to you. If you've got the radio with steering wheel controls, you may find that those don't work either.

Usually, it is the communication wire that is shorted somewhere. It can be a bear to find out where, though. You'll need a wiring diagram to know where to look. Or, the dealer can chase it down. You might look for the obvious... harness has a screw through it because of add-on stuff, harness is cut by sharp under-dash thingies, etc.
