A CEL was displayed. Smarty Jr confirmed the P2609 code. No other codes are present. Vehicle is 2007 2500 with 60,000 miles. Batteries were replaced about 4 months ago.

After internet research the following troubleshooting steps were completed.

Continuity of both heating grids was confirmed.

Continuity of the heavy cable from the solenoid to the grids was confirmed.

Continuity of the wire from the battery to the solenoid was confirmed.

Turning the key on and checking voltage at the grids shows "0" voltage. Also, "0" voltage at the relay output terminal.

Placing voltage on the Left (facing engine) solenoid terminal caused NO solenoid movement.

Placing voltage on the Right relay terminal caused the solenoid core to move.

Tracing wires away from the solenoid was not completed.

Connections at the battery were cleaned as were the connections at the solenoid.

Some troubleshooting flows suggest this process confirms the relay has failed. Are there other troubleshooting processes to complete. Is the solenoid bad?

Input would be appreciated.
