Just pulled the bolts for my intake going into the head and found what looks to be water on one bolt, the short front one, and what looks like water and carbon or soot on the aft long bolt. Took off intake to install comp box, and not sure if it's ok to put back together and run or what. Doesn't look right to me, but never heard of it before.

If you feel under the bolt locations inside the intake, you will see that the threads are exposed on inside of the intake, thus exposing the bottom of the bolts to the intake manifold. This would explain the carbon residue. There will always be some carbon buildup on the inside of the intake. The H2O could be from warm damp air cooling after engine shutdown causing condensation but I am not sure about that. I have taken many intakes apart. I have seen much carbon and I am sure I have seen fluid, but never enough to worry about it.

I would not worry about it. Just put some anti-sieze on the threads before you put it back together.

The only way I would worry is if the fluid had a sugary smell :)
