I want to ask the group about changing to the AFE Pro guard 7 filter. When you do this, do you need to also use the "torque tube" from Geno's? Does using the tube make a difference or will just removing the vanes/baffles from the stock tube give the same results?

Next, my 03 has no cat perverter on it, and has the good old 4 inch exhaust pipe. Question, as has been discussed here going to a 5 inch pipe may give a loss in torque. Will using the 4 inch pipe to the bed of the truck then a 5 inch stack thru the bed hurt torque also? Those who have stacks, can you answer this one? I would like to get more of a "big truck" sound from this otherwise stock truck.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Only the end of the exhaust is four inch on a 03. Rest is 3. 5. Mine is 4 inch from turbo housing back now. 5 inch is to big unless making BIG h. p. The TORQUE tube is basicly a noise maker which I didn't want. for BIG truck sound eaither whole new exhaust and a later model 4 inch tube from the rear of the turbo or just a muffler change to maybe a Donaldson or Nelson. Do a search on Donalson mufflers. Been lots of discussions in the past.
