hhmm... on a stock truck, I would have to say that any money spent wrapping the intake system could be better used on other modifications.
To test the theory, you would need a set of controls...
Wrapping the intake piping from compresor outlet to intercooler would probably have a negative affect. Compressed charge air it extremely hot, so any heat that you could shed BEFORE the CAC (charge air cooler) is going to help. Wrapping that section of pipe would actually retain heat... . definitely NOT what you want. Once the compressed air passes thru the CAC, it has been cooled sufficiently and not a wrap, but a reflective heat shield MIGHT keep any underhood heat from soaking back into the charge air... but in all actuality, it would be so minute, you would see no improvement.
If you are wanting to "move heat" around under the hood, buy a turbine housing blanket and wrap the exhaust system from the turbo outlet to out of the engine compartment. .
