I recently removed my intake horn to replace the VP44. I noticed that the two bolt holes next to the head are threaded all the way through into the intake manifold. The bolt threads have some of that red stuff on them that dodge uses, either some kind of sealant or loc tite. The bolts where a little rusted, probably from me washing the engine.

My question is, do I need to use a thread sealant on these two bolts to make sure I don't get any water or boost leaks? My service manual doesn't mention anything about using a sealant.

silcone will work but if there was any leak by it would be minimal at best. Id be more worried about your gaskets still being good. I have heard of people using locktite on them and ripping the threads out. I personally dont use anything when I put them back together.
