I found out where my boost was going. (changed the pump with a piers high output and lost boost over the weekend) The cover that goes on top of the intake manifold gasket is blown. Does anyone know what it is called? It is the cover that the inlet tube bolts go through. I don't think it is called the intake manifold gasket. I can't find it in the tech manual. I want to know what to ask for at the local Cummings dealer tomorrow. I hope he has one if not I hope I can get one overnighted from Piers.

I have been working with Harry at Piers on the loss of boost pressure and he told me how to make an adapter to hook to the inlet side of the turbo to pressurize and the boost air circuit. I made one out of PVC. If anyone is interested I can take a picture. It worked pretty slick. All parts were $20.

The reason I think I blew the gasket is like a dumb s*&^ I left off the my old fuel filter (I installed a FASS about a month ago) because it gave me such great access to the MAP sensor. I did not put the bolts back in. Looked at the bolts as mounting bolts and not manifold bolts. Tonight I put the filter back on and tightened the bolts and I am getting about 25 pounds now and my EGTs are pretty close to normal.

Has anyone changed this gasket before? I know I will have to take the HP fuel lines off. (joy joy) Any help on what the cover is called and how to change the gasket would be great.

The CONNECTOR, Air Intake sits on top of the HEATER, Engine which sits on the

COVER, Intake Manifold P/N 5011908AA

which sits on the GASKET, Intake Manifold Cover.

I think you called it right!

The P/N is the Mopar number.

While you are buying parts, it is a good idea to change the gaskets for the Heater Air Intake P/N: 3931604, 2 each.
