I have an 06 and notice that the bolt and wire from the base plate, just to the left of the intake ram, to the bottom portion of the intake ram, is missing on mine. I think it is a ground strap that connects to the heating grid.

I have no issues with the truck, no starting problems, but was wondering is this normal for the 06's. I posted a pic with the bolt and ground strap attached, I don't know what year that truck was for that pic, copied from another post.

As a side note for Banks hi ram buyers... ... ... Some people have been sent the earlier non-conductive gaskets with the manifold. The grid heaters will not work with them and will set a DTC on the later 3rd gens.

They switched to a semi-metallic gasket and ground right thru the whole assembly now.

Thanks Richard

The threaded bolt hole that is left by the missing ground strap bolt is about an inch or more deep, should this be blocked off by a bolt to prevent any leakage into or out of the intake manifold, or does the bolt hole not go all the way threw the intake manifold.
