Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Intake Noise

Sounds like a small Exhaust leak when I raise the hood. Could not find anything on the exhaust. I take the top off the air cleaner the noise gets louder, sounds like it is coming from the intake to the turbo. Could it be an in take valve or something else. 225,000 miles 2002, 5. 9, 2500,Auto

With that many miles i would lash the valves. But that noise is normal you should hear it with the intake horn off.
