Intake tube sensor????

Will the sensor in the intake tube cause the engine to Derate for any reason??? At one of the truck pulls i was at I took the air filter off and pulled without it and the engine acted like it went into derate our something,engine didnt die but just lost power...

Ive pulled alot and this never happened until I took the filter off and pulled. .

I forgot to reconnect the intake sensor and just at idle, the engine ran very rough.

if your sensor is bad or disconnected, your engine will fuel almost normal like stock until ~1900rpm. . after that very heavy defueling... i had one fail. . p0107 code. reads map sensor by obd2 standards, but that is what the sensor is on our trucks. the sensor on the manifold goes by boost pressure sensor according to obd2 trouble codes
