Intercooer boot warning 6.7l !!!!

Doing routine service and had the intake tube off the airbox and noticed that the dimple that is on the underside of it at the lower end to clear the intercooler boot has been rubbing on the intercooler boot that is closest to the turbo!!!! This is stock configuration and shouldn't be able to happen. Boot had noticable wear on it. You may want to pay attention to this on the next service and check it. I made sure that the bottom end of the intake tube was rotated away from the boot as I tightened the clamp to make sure that it stays clear of the boot.

Is your truck equipped with the thick intercooler or thin? just currious...

I didn't know there were different OEM ones. What are the thickness dimensions of the two if you happen to know?

I pulled one out of 07. 5 and put in my dads 09... didnt measure it but it actually looks like an intercooler and not a trans cooler... lol! can get specs if i can get him to stop by.

I believe midway through MY2008. The intercooler size are smaller than previous 6. 7's.
