Intercooler for a VW

My friend has a 81 VW rabbet with a newer jetta diesel motor in it. It is turbo and has a pump on it like on a first gen truck, I think them are called manuel??? But eney way i turned the pump up it is just like mine, But it does not have a intercooler on it. does eney body now of one that would work or something?? i think one out of a sabb might work?? Do you think it will pep it up a little?? It will smoke a mile long rite now it is great hahahaha. Thanks Justin

hey justin its deo . . keeping your truck it seems huh?. . cool sounds sweet! any how i have most of my experience in the vws to start with and in fact right now i'm doing a rabbit pickup turbo diesel swap with smokestacks. . ha im doing a 1. 6L now but i have a '98 tdi 1. 9L engine im converting to non electronic inj pump for it soon. . but any how as for a intercooler i have a few im gonna try my freind blake lives out in cleveland and he has one of my turbo setups and a aluminum saab intercooler i lent him on his truck it runs sweet... any small intercooler will work the ones from the izuzu box trucks work good too. . or ford thunderbirds etc. . the vw ve pumps have 9mm plunger in them unless its a new tdi then 10mm for manual transmission and 11mm for autos. . but i'm converting to a 12 mm cummins reman pump soon... im gonna have to mess with the govenor do any of you guys know how to do that as the vw 1. 5 1. 6L will run 5200rpm stock i want to do 6000 rpm. . so the pump needs to turn 3000 rpm... im sure the cummins pump is gonna be set for like 2800 or 3000 rpm which is half of what i need to use. . any tips on how to do that i don't think turning the max speed screw is gonna cut it... thanks
