The hose directly off the turbo leading to the intercooler on my truck seems to be failing. It is soft and I'm loosing boost. We're traveling in Colorado between Gunnison and Ouray. Is there a shop in SW Colorado that we can take it to?
Don't know of a particular shop, but Montrose will be your best bet along that route. If you can't find anything there Grand Juntion is an hour or so out of your way from Montrose, and there will be a dealer as well as a cummins shop there.
His '04 should still have metal sides. It is a common failure with higher boost pressures. I lost 2 factory ones just running a tst and an silicone blue hose too. The hose is too long and it the cyclic expansion is too much. Call your local dealer and have them check stock in the dealerships that are on your rought to see if anyone has one in stock. Your alternative it to call Mr. Bob’s Silicone Hoses - Silicone Hose, Silicone Hoses, Turbo Hoses, Hose Kits and have an aftermarket hose over nighted to you.
