I was installing a transcooler behind the intercooler, so I had to remove the intercooler. After removing the intercooler I noticed a shiny surface on the leaving side (to the intake) hose, so out of curiosity, I swiped my finger in the hose and I found oil in the molded bend, (that acts as a trap) BUT, no oil at the entering side (turbo) or even residue in the leaving side tube. My heart sank at first, but no oil was found anywhere else, and my buddy thought it was probably slight oil film accumulating from the manufacturing process that slowly moved and got trapped . It makes since because when installing a furnace, we fire it off to remove the oil residue that can smoke out a house. We have to warn the customer it's going to get smoky.
