I keep blowing the Rubber tube between my Turbo and Inter-cooler tube off. I tighten up the clamps as much as I can, but I still manage to blow it off occasionally. I can hit about 40 psi. Are there any after market parts that do better. I saw a Friends '97 truck and his hose had a wire around the middle of it to keep it from stretching out too much. If no after market parts does anyone know the PN for a '98 24v?? Thanks for any help.

I had the same problem. Piers Diesel Research has a set of "very" sturdy boost/intercooler hoses. Very hard to get go. However, once you have them on they are never going to blow off. I did some pricing and $200 with the spring loaded clamps is very reasonable

You can buy the individual boots from Piers as well if you don't want to buy the whole kit. From the dodge dealer one of the lower intercooler boots is around $140, but from Piers they are $65. I bought 2 of them when he had them on sale for $47/piece.

My lower boot on the passenger side also came off a few times. Since I have put the new boots on I have not had a problem. I couldn't believe how much thicker the boots from Piers are than the originals.

BTW - I just used the original clamps and they worked fine.

Here's a little trick that'll help too, take the tubes off, grind or sand the paint off back to the swage, then spray the inside of the rubbers with hair spray. (slide um tog. pretty quick) before the spray evap's tighten the clamps good and tight and no more prob's! Mine have repeated shots of 100 psi and no movement,

( i do have piers lower and custom uppers) just a little trick to help um seal.

Clean up the inside of the boots and the mating tube surfaces with alcohol. You have a K&N which is coating everything in the intake tract with a fine oil. (IAT sensor included) The first time you dropped in that filter the factory K&N oiling job which is a heavy coat has lubed up your connections.

Well now, Tim Taylor, you just told me exactly why my lower boost hose was blowing off a few months ago. I have a K&N on my truck too. And I knew it would coat things downstream with a fine oily film too.

Just didn't connect with what was happening. Go figure.

Glad to help!

I run a set of Piers' Boots. They are Beefy as heck and not the easiest thing to put on as they fight you the whole way. The reason was that after blowing mine off so many times in the past they became frayed at the ends. Another reason was the sheet metal on the drivers side lower cutting the boot as the trucks commonly have that problem post 2000. when they swell they contact the leading edge of the inner fenderwell underneath the truck. Anyhow here are the P-Boots
