Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) intercooler?

is it possible to put an intercooler from a 04-05 ram into a 96? will it physically fit? im sure i have to make brackets but will it clear the radiator? or does anyone have a cheap used one 4 sale? thanks

I don't think it would work the 3rd gen is alot taller

You can fit a 24valve intercooler in your 1996

put a 89 engine into a 96 that had a v10, so i have no intercooler at all, could get a deal on a 04-05 cooler, so thought if it fits use it, has to be better than none

A charge air cooler (CAC) from a '94-'02 truck will fit. A cooler from a late '98-'02 are better. Or, if you can find one, there are water-to-air intercoolers for the ag/industrial engines that will work. Will need the high pressure fuel lines for those engine, though. They are different.
