intercooler

where can i get a new intercooler or does somebody have a good used one ? i am also looking for suggestions for a turbo i plan on running no more than 400 horsepower i tow very heavy loads and would like to get the smoke down and the egts way down i can currently pull 1400 degrees pre turbo thanks for any help

i have a 93 and a 94 if your interested. the 93 4x4 x-cab auto has 104k on it but the body is rotten. hood and doors are still good. intercooler is good. you can have the hole truck for $1200. Not sure were your located but i bet it's no were close to NH.

Piers Diesel has an aftermarket intercooler I believe for around $6-700. The Also have (had?) a sale on a modified HX40 for $850, thats what I'm running right now. I used to be able to bury the needle on my 0-1500deg egt gauge pretty easy just getting on the freeway (empty). I put on the HX40 and advanced my timing and I can get on the freeway under 1200 deg most of the time.

New Era Diesel has an aftermarket intercooler also. It is rated for 50% more flow than a stocker. Its also rated for 100 PSI. 3" in and out tubes are an option.



A HX40 makes a good towing turbo. With your truck being a stick shift the 16cm housing on a HX40 might seem a little laggy. It requires a 4" exhaust system. If you don't already have a 4" you need one anyway.
