Well im curious so i will post and ask. any one test or use any intercoolers other then stock and how are the results. I think about blowing 35 psi thru a straw or a large LARGE pipe and it sure makes me wonder whats out there. after all with the P7100 theres all kinds of fuel, now lets get the air. !Oo.

Pthomas,

I don't have any hard numbers but Piers had a 24V intercooler on his old truck, he said the 24V intercooler does flow beter than the 12V intercooler.

I'm running a 24 valve/AWD intercooler on mine. It was new, then taken to a radiator shop and tested, where leaks were found (and there were some), they were fixed, then it was pressure tested at 70 psi. It makes a difference, one you can feel.

THATS IT?

well, ive learned the 24v intercooler flows "better"and they all leak ,even NEW ones.

Now hows about the aftermarket guru's

Banks doesnt advertise theirs, ive read someone had a "spearco"?and a "TTS". these little imports have four and five core coolers made for them! and they are big:mad: what about US? any one ever make a intercooler Bypass? for the strip?

You don't want to bypass the intercooler. It takes air that's about 320 degrees when compressed, and brings it down to about 100 degrees. The intercooler is necessary. I also run my fuel through a cooler. Also a noticeable difference. Gotta plumb it all in with Earl's hose and fittings, though... . but mine is anyway right from the tank due to the removal of my lift pump and replacing it with an electric one.

That charge air cooler is what lets you make that power safely in the first place. Besides, when you were in on New Year's Eve, I put the tester on your system and it passed, no leaks to worry about.
