Im a newbie putting together a service truck for my biz its an 89 D350 which had an 11 foot flatbed on it

I was wondering are the non intercooled trucks detuned ? Ive rounded up the ducts but would rather use a larger than stock IC has anyone tried a powerstroke one? (dont kill me) & if the pump is turned down for a non ICd how can I bring it up after thi IC is installed

Jak, welcome to the group as far as are these early models detuned I would say yes. I am lucky enough to live in the same area as Nascar Mark and he has worked his majic on my early 91 and I can tell you the is lots of hp and torque to be had just by doing pump tweacking and bumping up the timing. But at least get a tach and pyro installed before you start tweaking as egts get up there in a rush. bill

I guess Id say one other thing reguarding the tuning of this truck it is my work truck & longevity/relyability is key in my old truck I bought a new engine from chevy in 95 & left it totaly stock & it has heald up well I say that to say Ill prolly tune the new dodge a lil but it pulls well as it is too

once again you guys seem like a great group & Im glad to be in your company

In the pic new_truck1. I am afraid if I had a cab over setting right there and the Dodge had a blown getrag. I am afraid that the cabover would have been missing a road ranger. I would have riged that Dodge where you would not have had trans problems agin. :D

You going to have a pretty good service truck there when you get done.

that was pretty funny :D

Im gona break the trans in on motor oil than run redline synth MTL that should help it sure helps the saab tranies that are also weak

take care

JAK
