Intercoolers

I remember reading a while ago that the '05's have plastic ends on the intercoolers. I also remember reading they were going to go back to metal.

My question is do all '05's have the plastic intercoolers? Hope this isn't redundant. Thanks.

They did go back to the metal ends on the later 05's. They also put completely redesigned door seals on the later 05's.

How boost will the plastic intercoolers handle. I'm waiting on my hot juice to get here and I am wondering what to set the attitude at. Can we buy a metal intercooler from the ******* and how much are they running? Thanks and rattle on.

you can get a metal one from the dealer. we recently got a new one from city diesel that was a nice looking product also. most plastic ones are only good up to 40 psi if they even last at that level. Tomeygun has the metal innercoolers in stock and will ship it to you if you are interested.

I blew my stock plastic one at 34 psi. Dealer said that metal replacement ones were on backorder, didn't know when he could get one. Found a metal '03 intercooler, took some measurements and had it overnighted in for me. Don't know how much they run though, mine was warranty.

My '05 was built on 5/20/05 and has a METAL intercooler.

I run my plastic one with the edge hot juice and only see 35 psi, have not had any prblems yet. I just left the boost at 36 from my alerts, that comes from edge set at that.

I have the Banks and one 2003 stock in excellent condition. The Banks will drop cruising EGT"s But it adds some HP , so Temps Do peak But drop faster and Builds faster than the stock cooler does. .
