There's a new offering out there for those seeking an "E" rated,35" AT tire. It's Interco's Vortrac. Rated@3640 lbs. @65psi. It'll be interesting to see how they perform and wear. Price@Four Wheel Parts Wholesalers is: $216. 00 ea. for 35-12. 50-17. Wt. is 68lbs. ea. Toyo's Open Country MT weighs in@ 83lbs. and has approx. the same weight rating but@80lbs.

Found them on Interco's website, good looking tire. At the prices you quoted I might have to try a set over my PRoComp ATs at 250+ a tire for 35x12. 5R17's. And they are D range tires...

I'm hoping we'll start getting some feedback on these.

They do look like nice tires.

But I have a question: Interco lists that 35 inch tire as having 625 revs per mile. BFG list their 315 (34. 5) at 601 revs per mile. 24 revs is a big difference when it comes to tire sizes and odometer readings. Some one could have fat-fingered the website, but I would surely like to know what gives. Interco's revs should be at 600 or below.

Also, other than the specific weight rating, I see no official "E" rating listed on the website anywhere.

It states "10 ply" rating on the site. Any specs you find usually state 10 ply/E. I read the writeup in one of the mags. The rpms of the Toyo's are stated as 596,so Interco is exaggerating the height slightly.

The road

I am still very impressed with the Toyos, they get the job done!

In 1970 I drove the road from Meling Ranch to Mike's in a Baja Bug w/2-ply's. Road looked similiar back then to the one in your pic. Basically sucked bigtime. Bug weighed maybe 1/5 of these beasts, big difference. I feel there is a big demand for an AT in a 35/E rating. If I were in need today,I'd buy Toyo MT's though. :)

I was considering these tires, but ended up with the open country A/T 285/75/17 because tof the cost - $170 a tire vs. the $200+ a tire
