N.W. Diesel truck drag races

DC has a diesel hybrid?

Driving to work this morning... had to pick up another member who dropped his Ram off at the dealers.

Coming out of town, a white cat ran into the road, so I shifted down and let it go free... :D A little two seater sports car behind me couldn't see the cat, and snapped over into the other lane to pass... by this time I was doing about 5mph. I dropped the nv5600 into second gear, floored it, and ran it thru its paces... the little sports car and its driver looked like this:

We laughed all the way to work! I wish I would have turned on the BB, could have had BBQ for lunch!:D :D

Disclaimer: Almost no laws were broken. Don't try this at home.

The saga continues...

Dropped off my buddy to pick up his Ram tonight... we deciided to check it out before leaving the dealership. Oil was on the bottom of the pan... they didn't wipe it off. Oil had been spilled on the first turbo boot, lower radiator hose and frame. Also, fresh oil on the top and side of the valve cover.

I went inside and talked to the service manager, more to educate them than to yell about it. He came out and wiped down the truck, and offered to pull it in and clean it all up. Buddy decided to take it home and do it himself.

Just got a call... my buddy parked on a level spot at home, checked oil... its about a quart over! He looked at the work order and yep! They said the put in 12 quarts! He is on his way back down there right now!

This is a five star dealer...

It's nice to know, that no matter where you are you can ALWAYS count on your Dodge Dealer to be consistent... ... .

Have you ever been back in the lube rack area and see who is doing the work on your rig? It is not a high tech person but you certainly would think they would be trained to perform the job correctly. Any grease monkey (I use the term respectfuly) knows to check the rig, model, etc to see capacity of all fill points etc. Including the location of the zerks.

Lube monkeys

Back in the mid 60's when I was turning wrenches the lube jockeys were usually high school kids or beginer mechanics. One kid had a brand new black 67 VW fastback on the rack changing oil, when he finished draining the oil he locked the lever to the air release down and walked off... . leaving the oil drain container under the engine.

CRASH! It flipped the car off the rack onto its side. The poor old lady was really stressed, she just drove the car 130 mi from Bend, Or for her first service. Don't get me wrong about the young guys, some of them were really good and turned into great mecanics, but it pays to keep a eye on them when they are working on your baby.
