Truck Maintenance help

Way too cool! Wouldn't mind having that rig for my second truck!!! I did a conversion last winter, was in an '04 F-450 with the 6sp manual. That one we used the P-pumped 12valve also.

That would be a hard thiing to decide truck or wife ? I think it be easier to buy a cheap ranger or s-10 for the wife !!!

Interesting that he specifies an 0.030" overbore (misstated as .30) when the standard overbores for a Cummins piston are .020" and .040". Interesting truck, but will never pass emissions visual testing so limited in where it can be licensed, etc.

This dont make very much sense the guy must live on a farm by the photos . He needs to get a smaller truck ? Either this ad is BS
or he is not thinking buy a second truck for the wife i dont know of any farm with just one pick up !!!

"Only reason I'm selling this is to get a pickup that is more wife friendly"

Sounds like he needs a different wife that is more pick up friendly.

Some thing don't add up has any one responded ? It sound like one i responded to once about some thing and the person was ratteling off about something any how there was a 60s Dodge dart in the back ground photo graphed and the person called it a Datsun

That's a lot of dough for an altered truck. If he had used a modern CR engine, maybe, but not for a 12V. That same money will put you in a nice used RAM with working cruise control and it will pass a smog test too. If you want to do a repower today, make it worthwhile, like a Silver 4-53 in front of a 10 speed Roadranger.

And in no time flat your right arm will look just like Popeye's...........

Spare gallon of oil behind the seat and a can of spinach.....don't forget to slam hand in driver's door to get into the proper frame of mind to drive it......

That things like an ankle biter, all bark and no bite :-laf

We had a 2 Cycle Detroit in an old Galion neck breaker. It was mostly used in the yard loading and unloading steel but every now and then we would use it to hang bar joists on some of the taller warehouses we built and if the job was local we would just run it down the road. It had a 4 speed with hi/lo range and I'd be danged if I could ever find a gear that thing was content with on the road. From being wound tight sounding like it was about to grenade in one gear to bogging in the next. It sure was fun to run through town though. She turned a lot of heads with the skinny pedal held to the wood

Here's a nice example I saw at the Diesel Confab in Schenectady several weeks ago: It was a beautiful '73 Chevy, and also equipped with an air starter.

That's a nice, clean install.......electric pusher fans I assume....

It can't run much as I do not see any oil on the outside where it should be.....

I would be pretty proud of that were it mine and maybe will get to see it someday.

Mike.

I had a loader with one it sounded great idling but using it always thaught it would grenade although I wish the guy whom I sold it would of said he was going to scrap it as I would of snagged the engine for some thing off road , probally for ag use
