Interesting problem hmmm...

So this all started with what I think is a ABS sensor going bad. My ABS light came on and off. I'll know on Monday which one it is but last night I was driving and now have encountered something rather peculiar I think my truck is possessed. When cruising with the cruise control on if I honk the horn the cruise control kicks off the speedo drops to zero and the windshield wipers turn on. I didn't think those systems wipers and ABS sensor were connected. Anyone ever heard of this?

Sounds like a short in the wiring harness... though that's kind of obvious I guess. The "clock spring" between the steering wheel and the column can also cause a lot of weird electrical behavior.

The clockspring is probably what I'd blame first.



I have to admit, I chuckled a little when I read the symptoms.

I know and to add insult to injury this all started 200 miles past the end of my extended warrenty.

Some reports of a shorted wire thats affected if steering wheel adjust/tilt is used also.

DPKETCHUM ... I do seem to remember this problem being discussed before, with the fan cutting out when the steering wheel was tilted.

Update

I took the truck in today they pluged it in diagnosed it as a bad connection they put some dielectric grease on the connections and that seems to have solved the problem.
