Interior lighting Help

Hey yall,

Have a question for you more experienced (older folks LOL).

I have LED bulbs in my map lights on my 04 and they work great, they came with the replacement map light lenses that I ordered off amazon since I broke them during my cab light install.

My dome light is the factory halogen light and when I attempted to install an LED 578 bulb. All map/dome lights would all come on any time you selected any light. Didn't matter which one I chose they all came on.

What are yall doing for upgraded interior lighting?

Get one with a resistor, then it works. Had the same problem years ago.
No clue why it acts like that.

Need to have a CAN Bus rated bulb. I replaced my interior bulb without CAN Bus, and it would glow slightly with the doors closed no matter what! Changed out and no issue.

Forgot to mention, The bulb is a red bulb to help with night vision. Plenty bright enough to find what you need without having that short blinding moment when you need to turn on the interior light while driving! May or may not work for what you need.

Found a can bus style light on Amazon, ALLA lighting 578 led. Installed and done only turns on when the front map lights are on. Says can bus on the bulb and everything.

going to keep researching and see what bulb I need that will work besides this crap halogen unit lol

That bulb is unavailable right now but I will look for others like it and report back!!!!!!!

Same issue in my 03. It's no problem to let them glow. They can glow for a month and hardly draw anything from the batteries.
