Has anybody had any problems with the interior lights turning off after the door has been open for only 5 seconds. Lights will come back on after door is closed and stay on for another 5 seconds and then turn off, no dimming before going off, just instantly turning off. Also temperature reading in overhead console retains the last temperature monitored before the truck was shut off, even after sitting in a warm environment. Could there be a bad timer relay or does it have anything to do with the IOD fuse? Thanks for any ideas anybody may have.

If this the same vintage as my '06 then you need to unhook the trucks power at the PDM on the left hand fenderwell (which I prefer) or you can unhook both batteries, either method will do the same thing.

Wait for 10-15 minutes and then restore the power. All will be cured, have to do mine about every year and a half or so.

please tell us about your truck.
if it a 4 door/ or mega cab check wires in rear door- between door and door pilar.

a known place for wires to break and fully separate. it affects locks, window, and interior lights- depending what wires are broken.

I know the dealer can change the time setting for interior lights... mine did the same thing and they changed it to like 1 min or so... .

Thanks for the ideas, I pulled out the IOD fuse for about 15 minutes and then plugged the fuse back in and now everything works as it should. I have my interior lights staying on and then fading off after the doors are shut. Thanks for the help.

I had the TSB done on mine once, good for about a year. Now I just kill the power for 15 minutes, that will hold for a year and a half.

Don't want it flashed any more than needed, just my feeling on it.

mine was flashed several years ago for this issue... . has never given me a moments problem since. .

It seems that software is like "F. M. Technology" to some dealerships... Makes me wonder how they stay in business.
