I have had the fuse for the interior light blown a number of times. The dealer replaces it and it works for awhile then blows again.

The dealer says if not blowing fuse when they have it cannot find problem.

The first time it happened a week after I had the automatic running boards installed. this time the dealer said kept blowing fuse, so unplugged and replugged a number of connections then it worked.

First time it took 4 months to blow after fixed. the last few times has been a period of a couple of weeks before it blows.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Is the fuse blowing during the operation of the steps, or is it a random occurence? I would check the wiring for proper routing and security, especially where it goes through the body or connects to the truck harness.

To update in case anyone has similar problem.

The fuse has continues to blow but when took to dealer it was ok. Yesterday took it in and there was a "dead short"
Dealer eventually found the problem, it was a kinked wire at the top of the pillar where the wire goes though a plastic guide. Guess it would move around a little so sometimes short some times no short. Could not see wire without removal of pillar cover and the related plastic wire guide. Sure glad it is finally found and fixed.
