Turn signals work intermittently and sometimes when activating left, the right side comes on. This happened about a year ago and Chapman Dodge in Vegas replaced the complete switch on the steering column and problem went away until recently. Am I going to have to replace the switch on an annual basis? I'd do it myself if it weren't for the air bag having to be dealt with (I'd probably set it off).

I had the same issue with my 06 Mega . I removed the swithch, took it apart and used a q tip to remove some of the factory di-electric grease from the contacts inside where it kinda piles up in places and crosses up the signal lights.....about a half hours easy work.

There is an old post by me that showed how to take it apart and clean the contacts. Also if the dealer did the repair they may not have put back the two screws that are under the edge of the wheel. If they didn't you just pull the stalk sharply out toward the driver window. It just slides out. If you find my post it shows the screws and how it slides out. Just disconnect both batteries if your worried.

Could also be a bad TIPM,they are known to fail and create all kinds of weird electrical issues.

Sorry Sag, I couldn't remember who had posted that and that is where i learned it....thanks again

Same thing happened to my 06 Mega, turned out to be the Turn Signal assembly itself on the steering column was bad. Funny thing was, truck had 149xxx on it, the turning signal assembly (and only the assembly) had a warranty to 150k! Bout the only time i have gotten luck with warranty.

Same problem with my '06. I pulled the switch as per insrtuctions found here, cleaned contacts and re-installed. it hasn't skipped a beat since, and that was a few years ago. Switch comes right out, no need to pull steering wheel, a few screws and it pops right out. Easy to dissassemble and clean.
