I have a 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 4X4. At the moment the truck starts when it cold / hot every time. When the truck is driven 30 - 40 minutes and then when it is left sitting for 20- 30 minutes the truck will crank but will not start. I have check the following when it would not start:
1) Swap the ADC relay - no luck
2) Verified that fuel is coming out of the lift pump when it is on - it is
3) Verified fuel is present at the banjo fitting at the VP44 pump - fuel does come up when the lift pump turns on
4) Verified the VP44 pump had 12 volts - it did
5) Verified the VP44 pump had a good ground - it did
After the trucks sits another 40 - 90 minutes it will always fire up. It does not run rough when it starts. At the moment everything I have read indicates it is the VP44 pump. Is there anything else that I could check before spending $ 1,050 plus? What other device could come into play. In closing this truck was just at a Chrysler dealer and they said it only showed a APPS code but could not verify the APPS to be faulty? Also when driving the truck the RPM rev's up very slightly. Any and all help is appreciated
