Just recently I began having a glitch I'll describe it as a hick-up. After I start my truck a "99 2500" I can drive, and on occasion it will have a hick-up, when this occurs I am usually accelerating and it seams like I lose a signal, or power, or it misses a shift momentarily then the check engine light comes on and it runs as usual. Sometimes the check engine light will shut off after the truck sits for a while like it resets and all appears well till the
next time the glitch occurs. The recorded code is P-1689 which according to Toolmantimtaylor's great work archiving the codes lists p-1689 (m) no communication between ECM and injector pump module, data link circuit failure between ECM and fuel injection pump, low power, engine derated, or engine stops. Has anyone else encountered a similar problem and how did you resolve it? I recently installed a new ATS manifold with a new 4" stainless exhaust, and I use "Power Service" fuel additives. Also the new ultra low sulfur fuel has appeared in my area and I've been using it for a few tank fills. Thanks Again for all the help, Brad
