I don't have a recording because it's too intermittent to catch but every week or so my engine will rattle almost as if the timing is off for a brief moment, it then returns to normal and runs just fine. I don't stomp on the accelerator or power around like a teenager on steroids, just a "normal" everyday driver. No CELs, no deep codes my BlueDriver can find. Engine is always at running temp when it happens. It sounds very similar to a sound I used to hear on smaller older gas cars where if you stomped on the accelerator it'd rattle like the vacuum advance timing was off and then it'd adjust. I watch my regens closely with an Edge Evolution (truck not tuned) and put about 1k miles freeway on it a month with ~6k miles a year towing a 13k 5th wheel during the summer.

Any insight is appreciated. BTW, truck is emissions intact.

I don’t have a rattle but my truck will Gallop mostly when cold every now an then. It will surge like an old 6-71 with a sticky fuel rack. Seems to happen more often when it’s in ReGen mode. No codes. Very annoying. But it is getting worse. I’m sure one day it will tear it’s ugly head and let me know what is failing....
