Has anyone else had this problem? The heater/AC blower works when it feels like it. When it does work, it works normally and it seems like the blower speeds are as they should be. When it chooses not to work, it does not work at all. My first thoughts are that the switch is the problem. This is on a 1997 BR3500. I will appreciate any help. Thanks. Brad Nelson

blower motor

Sounds as if your motor is soon to crator or the ( selector, heater, speed control ) is bad. Not sure on the dash on yours but remover the screws in the dash cover and remover the screws that hold in the heater selector and ( gently) pry it apart there are some screws likely and check the condition of the contacts in side and if the buss bars are showing signs of blue. If you clean the contacts you would likely get the winter out of them. I ordered mine from a junk yard and they also lasted some years. If you have an VOM meter test for voltage and the condition of the internals of the heater selector .

I'm on my 3rd blower motor. Take note of where the motor sticks down under the dash, and when it is not working whack it with something. I used my long ice scraper until I got tired of it and put in a new motor. A word of advice, the second one I bought from O'reilly's. It was in about 3 months and the bearings started going out. I bought the one I'm running now from a junk yard.
