I got in the truck Friday night and turned on the headlights and everthing lit up, Dash taillights ECT, except the head lights!! I clicked them to high beams and they were fine. I messed with is some on the drive home and they would come on some times when I hit the dimmer switch and sometimes they would not. I suspect a relay, but did not have time to go get the parts on Sat. I am hoping it is not the dimmer switch. Anybody got any other sugestions.

Not a single idea? I found there is no relay in the fuse panel. There is an empty relay and fuse position for Quad headlamps??? I am sure the switch does not carry the load all the time, so where is the relay?

I have the same problem with my Y2K. Happens every once in awhile when I go from hi to low beams (converted mine to sport lights). It is a switched ground. I haven't dug into it yet so I can't really answer what the problem is. It doesn't do it in the flash-to-pass part, so I'm suspecting the dimmer switch. :{

CHECK THE PURPLE WIRE

I had a problem with no low beams but highs worked then I move the tilt wheel and whala I had low beams the purple wire broke off the little metal clip in the turn signal switch main plug I ran that way for several days and it would work with tilt wheel up but not down with out fail back and forth up down but figured I should make a temp repair till I got the parts twisted strans of wire around wire holder in little metal clip and that is the way it is still today 1 month later. SOME THING TO CHECK ?

GOOD LUCK

Craig

Had pretty much the same thing happen to mine. Except mine keeps coming unplugged from the junction box. Still haven't got around to fixing it permanently yet, just run with the steering wheel one notch up. Purple wire with a white tracer on my Y2K.
