I've dug into it and do not have any broken wires at the door hinges (at least on the passenger side). Here's what's happening...
Noticed Saturday my right rear power door lock stopped working. A few hours later discovered the remaining 3 power door locks work intermittently, meaning sometimes when I hit the button on the key fob the outside lights will flash but the locks don't move, I hit the lock switch on the door and nothing. Eventually everything operates as normal again (with exception of the rr door lock, it is dead).
I tear into the wiring and the rr door panel. I have voltage going to the rr lock actuator on lock and unlock (when system is functioning normally) so I can only come to the conclusion that this actuator is dead.
When the remaining 3 door locks act up (lights flash with key fob but no lock/unlock) there is no voltage going to the actuators. I tried unplugging the dead rr actuator but makes no difference to the intermittent problem. Even stranger today the front passenger door lock started working intermittently but the 2 drivers locks worked fine. Again no voltage at the wires going to the intermittently non functioning lock.
My next step is to replace the actuator on the rr door and cross my fingers that the other problems go away, but somehow I doubt this will be the case. Has anyone run into this before? I need some direction as I can not stand to deal with the dealership(s). I love this truck but have had nothing but problems with electrical components; tipm, multifunction switch, now lock actuator and potentially more
