Looking for replacement engine

A couple of weeks ago I noticed a rough idle at start up. It smoothed out and ran fine. Now it is a rougher idle and stalls out and dies. There is no check engine light, and so no code when connected to code reader. It seems to be more problematic in colder temperatures. Thinking it’s possibly FCA, but would like to have some reassurance that this is the likely problem. Having no code to check, it makes me wonder.

No assurance possible without codes. No truck info or history either to say one way or another. An FCA that has a bunch of miles and years of operation COULD be the problem, as could the LP dying or the FRP failed or an injector sticking.

I have same problem..... any advice?

Try some Stanadyne Injector cleaner, brown bottle, as you could have IDID, Internal Diesel Injector Deposits formed from the oxyalic soaps used to add lubricity to ULSD...It works for me...

Disconnect the FCA and start it, if it runs rough but without missing you are in for an FCA.
If the problem persists then it is probably not the FCA.
