Intermittent starter operation

On my neighbors 2008 he has this problem that when he goes to start the truck the starter will engage then disengage while holding the key in the start position. Once in a great while the ghing will start. Doesn't get driven much btw . Any ideas ? Some codes are ecm power inter mittens , misfire cyl 4, and a cps code ???

Sounds like a TIPM failing....

Tested good, put new ones in just for the hell of it , same thing. Even with jumper cables hooked up it acts the same , strangest stuff I've seen. More reason to keep my 2 outdated piles !!!'

I think that the starter/Starter solenoid mite be acting up. The igniotion switch mite be acting up. *
The ecm code and the cam position sensor codes mite have some thing to do with the starter problem. But probably just keeps the engine from running *good.*
