Hi all,

Recently my 99 2500 shut down while going down the road. It was diagnosed as an "internal injection pump electrical failure 100 DRB III test fault P0254".

The problem is that, of course, the engine is no longer under warrranty (beyond 5 years) and the dealer wants $3,000 to fix it.

Are there any good shops in the denver area that can do this work for less? Is it possible to get a rebuilt injection pump? I have the shop manual - how difficult is it to do this job myself?

Thanks y'all

Don

I bought a reman p44 from 'www.Cumminsstuff.com' this week. (817-753-7755) Best price I found & carries the 12 mo. /unlimited miles Bosch warranty. Service was excellent--ordered on Tues. ;sitting in my door on Wed. Do a search on vp44s, all kinds of help. Good luck.

Just get a reman. VP and do it yourself. Cumminstuff.com does have good prices. Doing the swap yourself isn't too hard and you can probably get it running for less than 2K. Doing search should give you enough info about the swap.

Thanks so much for your input, members. Found a place that, thanks to one suggestion, will do it for a reasonable price. Will be good to get the big red truck on the road again! Thank you all very much!
