I too would like to know I just got through working with a buddy on a 24 valve daulie he bought that was cursed with a Fram filter and had some bearings wiped out as well as a gaulded piston, We had to buy from the local Cummins dealer because everbody we talked to said there was no aftermarket parts, a piston cost me $160. I just bought a 95 with a knock and pulled the engine out and need parts to overhaul it. I will keep looking.

Go to you local Cummins shop and get a midranger club membership. Cummins Service locator: http://www.cummins.com/service_locator/index.cfm

This will allow you get get a discount on parts AND service. They are a whole lot nicer to deal with than Dodge!

I had a 10:30 appointment and the truck was on the rack at 10:35.

I can not tell you how many times I had a 8:00 appointment with Dodge and it was 10:30 or even 11:00 before they even moved the truck back to the shop and they KNEW that I was waiting for it.

I think people like Sealed Power and other parts manufacturers make parts for these engines. They will probably be a lot cheaper but not sure if the quality of them would be the same as the genuine Cummins parts. Try some parts stores or some big engine parts distributers.

Hey 83 Crew Cab:

I found a place here which sells Sealed Power Parts. Their name is Engine Rebuilders Supply out of Columbus. Their # is (800) 334-5191. Try them and see if there is a difference in prices.

called engine builders supply today rebuild kit with pistions, pistion ring, bearings and seals $730 kit with out pistions $450 cam $199 tappets $4. 54each sounds like a pertty good place all parts meet cummins specs said kit cam with mcbee rings

I'm new to this fourm thing but just thougt I would give you my reason for buying the 91 Dodge. I worked at a Case equipment store, the 5. 9 is the same one used in some ag. tractors and I was able to buy cheap parts. You may want to look at that avenue
